About Scientific Imaging
Scientific Imaging is an industry leader in nuclear medicine imaging. With an installed base of over 1,600 systems, Scientific Imaging is also among the largest suppliers of nuclear medicine computers.

Scientific Imaging was founded in 1984 by scientific and clinical specialists in the field of nuclear medicine. Among the company's founders is the late Dr. James Lear, a highly regarded radiologist and nuclear medicine specialist. Initially, Scientific Imaging designed and manufactured digital autoradiographic image analysis systems to support the development of radiopharmaceuticals for PET and SPECT studies. Scientific Imaging's solid state, CCD-based scanners offered previously unattainable levels of accuracy for image quantification, providing a level of performance that only recently has been matched by laser scanners. In addition to innovation, reliability and service have always been priorities of Scientific Imaging. This is evidenced by the fact that some original systems remain in use after nearly 20 years. Scientific Imaging is fully funded, so the company can commit its energies to optimizing products before their release, rather than being forced by cash flow or debt servicing needs to market short-lived or prototype systems.

Scientific Imaging's flagship product is a computer system for nuclear medicine called NucLear Mac. This name alludes to Dr. Lear, who conceived the system, and to the Macintosh and MacOS-based computers on which the system operates. NucLear Mac systems are being used daily in hundreds of hospitals and clinics to acquire, display, process, archive and transmit nuclear medicine data. NucLear Mac provides outstanding value and performance to clinicians and researchers in nuclear medicine. The NucLear Mac system has been available commercially since 1990, and has been cleared for marketing through a 510(k) submission to the Food and Drug Administration.
